among the (wind) giants

Walking amid large-scale wind turbines is quite an experience. They are beautiful, and good. In our region (upper midwest), where such turbines are placed largely in large-scale agricultural land, we see little opposition to their presence (some exceptions apply).

Yesterday, I visited another wind project. It’s always remarkable to stand beneath such a giant.

Among the greatest problems we face as a species is carbon. If we are serious about tacking our problems, hopefully we’ll see a lot more of these beauties. Sited appropriately, of course.
