One bad ad.

Shoe company Pearl Izumi has come to a difficult realization: dead pets don’t sell sneakers. The company is apologizing after the release of the following ad:

badadPearl Izumi: Run so fast you’ll kill your dog.

Said Global Marketing Director Gregg Shaff: “Our approach was humorous, and some people didn’t see it that way.” I’d say.

The important lesson here is that being funny is really difficult. And joking about your dead yellow lab, well, that’s walking a knife’s edge.
